MEET THE TEAM
James is a Director from Manchester who specialises in working within community settings, and making original works of theatre with both trained and untrained performers. Prior to directing Public Acts Doncaster, he has been Associate Artistic Director of Slung Low in South Leeds, Associate Artist at Company Three, an Associate Director at the Royal Shakespeare Company and a Staff Director at The National Theatre.
Co-Artistic director and Founder of Tenfoot Dance Company, Professional dancer, choreographer, teacher and mass movement director; trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance.
Gitika is an early career theatre director from Leeds. After studying Drama & English at University in Liverpool she became Trainee Assistant Director at Leeds Playhouse, supported by the JMK Trust, through which she assisted James Brining on Ode to Leeds as well as working within our Creative Engagement department and producing teams. Gitika is now the Participation Practitioner for the Octagon Theatre in Bolton.
Linda is an independent producer and theatre-maker living in Sheffield, making work locally, nationally and internationally. Most of her work is co-created with communities and/or socially engaged. As well as producing the Doncaster leg of Public Acts, Linda also leads projects with the National Lottery and Future Arts Centres, the Albany, The Bare Project, and Christopher Green. Previously, she's managed projects and programmes with the The British Library, Roundhouse, the Albany, Pleasance and many more cultural venues, as well as in community and school settings.
Chris is a Sheffield-born playwright, lyricist and theatre-maker. She has been a resident artist for Sheffield Theatres, the Oxford Playhouse and the National Theatre Studio, and a member of the Orange Tree Theatre's Writers' Collective.
Ruth Chan has worked extensively as a composer in film and TV, including as assistant to Oscar-nominated film composer Dario Marianelli. After working on fringe shows, she is moving into larger theatres with her first major commission for the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Clare is responsible for finance, customer service, access and inclusion, legal and HR.
Head of Participation for Cast Theatre
Sarah leads on all Cast's work with children, young people and communities. Sarah is also Cast's Designated Safeguarding Officer.
Community Producer Public Acts
Nic is from Doncaster and has worked for Cast previously as the Audience Engagement Officer overseeing the Social Seats project.
Ryan Harston - artistic director of multidisciplinary arts collective 'URBAN Conceptz Theatre', based in South Yorkshire. Mixing innovative storytelling, stunning audio-visual technology, mask work and explosive movement, Ryan's commissioned piece Trinity lets audiences choose to listen to one of three stories as the show unfolds on stage.
Associate Movement Director
Jennifer is a British actor, theatre-maker and movement director. Raised in the Midlands via Bolivia, her work interrogates how the female body is presented in performance, her relationship with the UK, and the duality of living between cultures.
National Theatre's Director of Learning
Alice leads the National Theatre's Learning department and programme, including Public Acts.
Director of Public Acts
Emily Lim. Emily is a theatre director who specialises in creating community work and working with non-professional performers.
Rosie is a critically acclaimed playwright and award winning actor from Liverpool. She is the winner of the British Independent Film Festival - Best Actress Award for her portrayal of Marja in Run Away With Me. Rosie is a regular contributor for The Big Issue and Exeunt Magazine and runs writing workshops for asylum seekers and refugees with SBC Theatre, Belarus Free Theatre and Journeys International.
Director of Cast Theatre
Deborah is responsible for programming Cast's spaces and deciding on the strategic leadership of the theatre.

Hannah Sibai is a Leeds-based designer who works across many genres.
Engagement Producer, Public Acts
Lara works across the whole Public Acts programme in London and all National Theatre's partner locations.
Senior Producer Public Acts
Ros is a creative producer with particular expertise in new writing, contemporary work and participation.
Technical Director for Cast
Matt is responsible for overseeing all of Cast's backstage, technical and creatives. Matt also heads up our buildings operations and health and safety.
